SLR Magic HyperPrime MFT Lens Series

The SLR Magic HyperPrime MFT series is a family of high‑end, ultra‑fast lenses designed specifically for Micro Four Thirds (M43) cameras. Renowned for their extreme apertures, cinematic rendering, and robust mechanical build, these lenses are made for serious image creators - professional filmmakers, indie creators, wedding and documentary shooters, as well as enthusiasts chasing a distinct visual style.

One of the flagship models in this lineup - HyperPrime 50mm T0.95 - is widely regarded as a “dream standard lens”, delivering extremely shallow depth of field and outstanding low‑light performance. It is a go‑to choice for night scenes, portraits, and any work that demands a strong cinematic look.

Mechanical design tailored for video and professional use

Manual focus design with well‑damped, smooth focus throw for precise focus pulls by operators or focus pullers. HyperPrime MFT lenses feature de‑clicked (stepless) aperture rings, allowing smooth iris changes during recording without visible “exposure jumps” between full stops. A solid metal construction provides durability and a reassuring feel in daily professional use.

SLR Magic HyperPrime 10mm T2.1

10mm-tr23.png

The SLR Magic HyperPrime 10mm T2.1 (MFT mount) is an ultra‑wide cinema lens that balances modern sharpness with a slight analog character. Its color is neutrally warm with moderate saturation, rendering skin tones naturally and gently, with slightly low contrast that preserves plenty of shadow detail and offers good flexibility for grading.

At T2.1 the center is already quite sharp, while the corners are a bit soft with a vintage cinema feel; stopping down to T2.8 - T4 noticeably improves edge‑to‑edge clarity. Distortion and barrel effect are present but well controlled, accompanied by natural vignetting that helps draw attention to the center.

Because 10mm on MFT inherently gives deep depth of field, even at a wide aperture it’s more about enhancing spatial presence than creating extreme background blur; bokeh transitions remain smooth, and it works especially well with foreground elements to create an exaggerated perspective. Against the light it produces soft, layered, cinematic flare, with good flare resistance and well‑controlled focus breathing, making it suitable for video work.

SLR Magic HyperPrime 50mm T0.95

The SLR Magic HyperPrime 50mm T0.95 (MFT) is an ultra-fast lens with a soft, cinematic character, ideal for portraits and night scenes. It renders slightly warm, natural colors, with lower contrast and an “airy” look at T0.95–T1.4 that gently smooths skin tones like a built‑in beauty filter.

Wide open, the center is already sharp enough for practical use while the edges have a vintage cine‑lens feel; stopping down to T2.8 - T4 greatly boosts overall sharpness and corner resolution to commercial standards. On MFT, T0.95 still delivers extremely shallow depth of field and creamy bokeh, with smooth foreground–background transitions and gorgeous neon/street‑light blur for a romantic urban mood.

Backlit shots at T0.95 produce soft flare and a light “glow” that enhances atmosphere, while stopping down tames flare and stabilizes contrast. Overall, it balances dreamy, wide‑open cinematic softness with clean, crisp rendering when stopped down, making it perfect for dramatic close‑ups, emotional scenes, night portraits, cafés and indoor ambience, music videos, weddings, and any situation where you want to turn the background into washes of color and light.
